Ten Pin Bowling Requires Skill

When people first start bowling, they might not think that there is much of a challenge associated with it. The hardest thing that they might experience during the first day at a bowling alley is figuring out which ball to use and which bowling lane they will play on. Ten Pin bowling requires skills that some people might not develop for many years and some bowlers will not perfect them over a lifetime.

Fun is the basis behind bowling in small groups or tournament leagues. Families have grown closer just because they have learn to bowl on a certain day of the week. Bowling gives families something to look forward to and something to talk about during the week. Some children will invite their friends to join them at the bowling alley and the fun times certainly increase when they show up.

There are many ways that people approach bowling and this crucial step is a critical skill that each individual will have to develop on their own. There is no certain way that any bowler will hold their bowling ball and there is no guarantee on which approach they will use when they release it on its way down the alley. Some bowlers have a particular line that they will stand on when they release the ball.

Other bowlers use the sling and drop method for getting the ball down the lane and bowling alley owners cringe every time the ball is thrown this way because it damages the surface of the alley. The surface of each lane is coated with a several layers of polyurethane. These layers are shined and polished everyday to create a glossy coating that allows the ball to go as fast as any bowler would want it to go.

No bowler is allowed to wear street shoes while bowling because this mars the alley surface and players cannot glide during their ball delivery in their special coated soles of their bowling shoes. There is a certain magic that occurs when bowlers are aiming at the ten pins shaped like a triangle. Some bowlers have perfected how they bowl to such a degree of expertise that they are confident that they can knock down all pins on the first ball.

Other bowlers will not be so lucky and will need both ball rolls to knock over three or four pens. This is when everyone on the team will have a good laugh and joke about the defeat for many weeks relentlessly. When people are enjoying ten pin bowling, they are there just to have fun and no hard feelings ever come out of people who get together to bowl week after week.

A person will have to practice every week if they want to perfect their skill to the point where they can get strikes or spares each time. Centering the ball at certain bowling pens is not an easy thing to do. Some balls seem to be off a fraction of an inch and this small distance will allow the pen to remain standing. Some players joke around by trying to blow air in the direction of the pen with the hopes of making it fall over.
